YouCopia® Commits to Sustainable Products, Packaging and Practices Through its Organizers Made Better™ Initiative

Chicago (March 4, 2023) – YouCopia® introduces its Organizers Made Better™ sustainability initiative which considers people and the planet as the company improves its products, packaging, and practices for a brighter sustainable future.

“Our homes contain many things that make daily living easier and more enjoyable. Items that serve a purpose and last a long time make them a more sustainable choice,” said YouCopia President Lauren Greenwood. “We create organizers with high-quality materials to withstand daily use for many, many years. We aim to make products that “move with you”, lasting longer than a rental agreement or mortgage contract. We’re ramping up use of recycled materials and finding ways to make goods recyclable too.”

Sustainable Products

Starting in 2023, YouCopia’s new products will be made with post-industrial (factory-scrap) recycled materials, whenever possible. The company’s premium products are designed for durability, cleanability, and long-term use, and backed by its Feel Good Promise™. The products will be engraved with recycle symbols for proper disposal at the end of their useful life.


Eco-Friendly Packaging

There’s nothing worse than purchasing a product with a ton of packaging that goes straight in the trash. YouCopia products are intentionally packaged in a compact manner with minimal air space for energy-efficient transport. Plastic-free boxes and inserts are printed with soybean ink. In partnership with How2Recycle®, all packaging is 100% curbside recyclable and clearly marked with recycling information, so packing materials end up in the proper bin, not the landfill.

It doesn’t stop at products and packaging. Sustainable business practices are important for the environment and people involved.  YouCopia products are invented, designed, marketed, and sold by a full team of experts in Chicago. The company maintains trusted partnerships with overseas factories that undergo regular 3rd party audits, such as SMETA and BSCI, to verify labor, health and safety, environmental and business ethics standards. Domestic suppliers and service vendors are carefully selected and managed, right down to the eco-friendly paper tape used for shipments.
